I compiled this list some years ago, to remind myself of what is important in how to be a pastor and lead a church. The order is more or less random.

1.    Worship until the joy comes

2.    Surround yourself with prayer

3.    Keep the main thing the main thing

4.    Read, believe and do the Bible

5.    Love the people

6.    Keep a personal Sabbath

7.    Put your family first

8.    Over-communicate

9.    Tithe

10. Read

11. Believe

12. Do more gainers than drainers

13. Never click “send” after midnight

14. Remember Who you work for

15. Have fun

16. Don’t get too comfortable

17. Never bind yourself with anything that causes you to sweat (Ezekiel 44:18)

18. Reach out to “the other ones”

19. Remember “faith” is spelled R-I-S-K

20. Keep your objectivity

21. Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative

22. Strengthen yourself in the Lord

23. Stretch yourself

24. Exercise your faith

25. Go on to perfection

26. Pre-pray the day

27. Don’t limit God to your theology

28. Eyes forward

29. Don’t do good programs, do life-transforming encounters

30. Go with the flow of the Spirit
